I am currently serving as the Medical Director and Senior Consultant Endocrinologist at Dr. Matthew Tan Diabetes and Endocrine Care. Before deciding to establish my own clinic, I gained many years of experience working in the Endocrinology Department at Singapore General Hospital.
During my time working in the university hospital, I not only treated patients directly but also had the opportunity to teach at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School. Sharing knowledge with future generations of doctors has always been my passion. Additionally, I actively participated in research projects aimed at finding more effective treatments for patients with endocrine disorders.
The areas I am particularly interested in include:
- Diabetes: I am constantly seeking solutions to help patients stabilize their blood sugar levels, prevent complications, and improve their quality of life.
- Thyroid Disorders: From simple thyroid dysfunctions to more complex conditions, I have a special focus on treating thyroid diseases.
- General Endocrinology: With extensive knowledge of the endocrine system, I can diagnose and treat a wide range of related conditions.
- Calcium and Bone Metabolism Disorders, Osteoporosis: These are increasingly common health issues, especially in the elderly. I am dedicated to finding effective treatments to help patients maintain strong and healthy bones.
I understand that each patient has unique characteristics. Therefore, I always take the time to listen, share, and work with patients to find the most suitable treatment plan. I believe that with the combination of specialized knowledge, clinical experience, and dedication, I can help patients improve their health and enhance their quality of life.
